Consistent Lawn Care Without the Hassle

A well-maintained lawn is not about one great mowing session. It is about showing up on the same day every week, at the right mowing height, with sharp blades, and following a seasonal schedule that keeps the turf healthy from the first spring cut through the last fall cleanup.

J. Gudiel Landscape has been maintaining residential and commercial properties across Massachusetts since 2000. Our lawn care clients get a dedicated crew that knows their property. Not a random team that shows up whenever the schedule allows and mows everything to the same height regardless of grass type or season.

We keep lawn care straightforward. Weekly mowing and edging through the growing season, dethatching when the lawn needs it, spring and fall cleanups to clear debris and prepare the turf for the next season, and leaf removal in autumn before the buildup causes damage. No unnecessary services, no upselling, just consistent maintenance that keeps the lawn looking right.

For homeowners who need more than maintenance (landscape design, planting, grading, irrigation installation), see our Residential Landscaping page.

Weekly Lawn Mowing

Mowing, edging, and blowing on a fixed weekly schedule through the growing season (typically mid-April through mid-November in Massachusetts). Your crew arrives on the same day each week. Mowing height is adjusted based on grass type and season (higher in summer heat to reduce stress, lower in spring and fall for a clean appearance). Blades are kept sharp because dull blades tear grass instead of cutting it, which causes browning and increases disease susceptibility.

Edging and Trimming

Clean edges along driveways, walkways, patios, garden beds, and any hardscape borders. String trimming around fences, posts, trees, and areas the mower cannot reach. Edging is what separates a mowed lawn from a maintained lawn. It takes extra time and most budget lawn services skip it or do it once a month. We do it every visit.

Dethatching

Thatch is the layer of dead grass, roots, and organic debris that builds up between the soil surface and the living grass blades. A thin layer (under half an inch) is normal and beneficial. When it gets thicker than that, it blocks water, air, and nutrients from reaching the root zone. We dethatch with power rakes when the buildup warrants it, typically once per year in early spring or early fall. Not every lawn needs it every year, and we will tell you honestly whether yours does.

Spring Cleanup

Clearing winter debris (branches, leaves, sand, salt residue), raking compacted leaf matter from beds and lawn edges, cutting back dead perennial growth, edging all beds and hardscape borders, and an initial mow to clean up the lawn after winter dormancy. Spring cleanup sets the tone for the entire growing season. A property that starts clean stays clean with regular maintenance. A property that starts with leftover winter debris looks behind all season.

Fall Cleanup

Leaf removal from the lawn, beds, and hardscape surfaces. Clearing gutters and downspout areas of leaf buildup. Final mow at a lower height to prepare the turf for winter. Cutting back perennials and removing annual plants that are done for the season. Blowing out beds and borders. Fall cleanup prevents leaf mat from smothering the lawn over winter, which causes dead patches, snow mold, and fungal issues in spring.

Leaf Removal

Massachusetts properties produce heavy leaf volume from September through November. We handle leaf removal through a combination of mowing with mulching blades (for light coverage), blowing and vacuuming (for heavy coverage), and full removal from the property. Leaves left sitting on the lawn for more than a week or two block sunlight and trap moisture, creating conditions for disease. We stay on a regular schedule through fall to prevent buildup from getting ahead of us.

How J. Gudiel Landscape Lawn Care Works

Set Schedule

Your property gets a fixed day each week. You do not need to call and request service. The crew shows up on schedule, does the work, and moves on. If weather forces a reschedule, we notify you and make it up within 24 to 48 hours.

Dedicated Crew

The same crew services your property every week. They learn the quirks of your lawn (wet spots, shaded areas that grow slower, tight spaces around the fence line) and adjust their approach accordingly. You do not get a different crew guessing every time.

Seasonal Adjustments

Mowing height, frequency, and service scope adjust through the season. Higher cuts in July and August heat. Lower cuts in spring and fall. Edging every visit. Dethatching when needed. Spring and fall cleanups included or available as add-ons depending on your plan.

Direct Communication

Jose is your point of contact. If you have a question, a concern, or a request, you reach the owner directly. No dispatchers, no customer service departments.

Lawn Care Questions

How much does lawn care cost?
Residential lawn care plans typically range from $2,000 to $10,000+ per year depending on property size, visit frequency, and scope of services included. A small residential lawn on a weekly mowing schedule sits on the lower end. A larger property with weekly mowing, seasonal cleanups, dethatching, and leaf removal sits on the higher end. We provide a specific quote based on your property.
Weekly through the growing season (mid-April through mid-November in most years). Some properties on slower-growing turf may move to biweekly mowing during the hottest part of summer when growth slows. We adjust based on conditions, not a rigid calendar.
Leaf removal through autumn is available as part of our lawn care plans. Massachusetts properties can produce heavy leaf volume from September through November, and regular removal prevents lawn damage. We handle it through a combination of mulching, blowing, and full removal depending on the volume and property layout.
We provide lawn care and maintenance services primarily in the MetroWest area, including Bellingham, Hopkinton, Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Sherborn, Medway, Southborough, Wayland, Wellesley, and Medfield. Contact us to confirm service in your area.
