Mulching is the process by which a layer of mostly organic material is applied to the surface of soil. This is done in a variety of different ways and for plenty of reasons. Examples include permanent ones on plastic sheeting or temporary ones such as bark chips. They can be made of manure or compost in order for these to be incorporated naturally into the soil by the activity of organisms. As you can see, this is a diverse process on which many property owners embark upon to improve the quality of their yards, lawns, and greenery. But why specifically is it done?
